From February 27 to March 2, the 25th Vilnius International Book Fair – the largest literary event in the Baltic States – will take place at the Lithuanian Exhibition and Congress Center LITEXPO. This year’s theme, „Kukutis Goes to the Fair“, invites visitors to discover the hero of Marcelijus Martinaitis' Ballads of Kukutis.
VILNIUS TECH is a regular participant of the Vilnius Book Fair, fostering academic publishing traditions in Lithuania, developing scientific and educational literature, and promoting technological advancements in the country. The university brings together ambitious researchers who encourage bold experimentation, unconventional thinking, and the search for new, unique opportunities in any situation, creating solutions for present and future challenges. VILNIUS TECH nurtures a culture of innovation creators, shaping the world of tomorrow.
VILNIUS TECH invites you to visit its stand 3.02 in academic publishers' area.
Visitors will have the opportunity to acquaint themselves with the recently published VILNIUS TECH book, „Keturtakčio vidaus degimo variklio projektavimas“ Co-authors Assoc. Prof. Dr. R. Juknelevičius from the Faculty of Mechanics and Prof. Dr. A. Rimkus from the Faculty of Transport Engineering invites everyone to the book presentation on February 28 (Friday) at 2:00 p.m. in Conference Hall 5.5. After the presentation, the authors will meet readers and sign books at the VILNIUS TECH stand 3.02.
This is the first book by these authors dedicated to transport engineering students and professionals. The book systematically presents methodologies for calculating the thermal, kinematic, dynamic, energy, environmental, and structural parameters of an internal combustion engine. It explains how the design features of individual engine components, fuel properties, material characteristics, and other factors influence engine performance.
„A similar Lithuanian-language publication on internal combustion engine design was last released 15 years ago. The automotive industry is currently experiencing significant changes and challenges, particularly in the search for alternative fuels and their efficient use in combustion processes to mitigate climate change. To overcome these challenges, it is essential to have a deep understanding of internal combustion engine parameters, processes, and design features of engine components," notes Assoc. Prof. Dr. R. Juknelevičius and Prof. Dr. A. Rimkus.
The presentation will introduce engine cycle modeling, calculations using the AVL BOOST software, and modern calculation methods applied in designing engine systems and components. The event will feature Stasys Slavinskas, Jurijus Tretjakovas, and Saugirdas Pukalskas. The book's reviewers, experienced experts in the field, will provide insights and comments on the content and discuss its significance for education, research, and Lithuania’s industry.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. T. Kačerauskas from the Faculty of Creative Industries has published „Karo laiškai“ (II dalis) and invites visitors to the book presentation on February 28 (Friday) at 5:00 p.m. in Event Space 5.1 A. The event will be moderated by writer Alvydas Šlepikas (LRS) and will feature discussions with historian Aivas Ragauskas (VU) and philosopher Vytis Valatka (VILNIUS TECH).
