About

The international scientific conference “Modern Building Materials, Structures and Techniques” is organized since 1991 (recently – every 3 years). The conference is one of the biggest civil engineering scientific events in Baltic region countries.
The 13th international scientific conference “Modern Building Materials, Structures and Techniques” (MBMST 2019) was successfully held on 16-17 of May 2019 in Vilnius, Lithuania. The conference was organized by the Faculty of Civil Engineering of Vilnius Gediminas technical university (VILNIUS TECH) together with national and international partners: International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering (Lithuanian group), European Council of Civil Engineers, Lithuanian Association of Civil Engineers, Lithuanian Academy of Sciences, Association of European Civil Engineering Faculties, and European Civil Engineering Education and Training Association. More than 200 scientists from 17 different countries took part in the recent conference. Totally 147 oral and poster presentations were delivered during the event. The majority of foreign participants came from Poland, Latvia, Czech Republic and Germany.

The scope of the conference covered almost all fields of civil engineering. The major topics were the traditional ones: modern building materials and their production technologies; investigation and design of reinforced concrete, steel, glass, timber and composite structures; innovative calculation techniques for bridges; geotechnics; new building technologies and management; building information modelling; etc. All submitted and peer reviewed conference proceedings are published online. The proceedings are also sent to Clarivate Analytics and Scopus for possible indexing in scientific databases.
Organizers are very proud of the fact that during the plenary sessions of the conference 6 keynote presentations were made by invited speakers which are listed among the internationally known scientists in field of civil engineering. The keynote speakers came from USA (David Hui, Ayman S. Mosallam and Ronald D. Ziemian), Norway (Harald Justnes), Germany (Hartmut Pasternak) and Hong Kong (Albert T. Yeung). The conference was attended by the heads of the international organizations, rectors of the universities, heads of the faculties, departments and other honorable professors, researchers and business representatives interested in recent civil engineering innovations.
