VILNIUS TECH "LinkMenų fabrikas" invites students to join Aalto University's Product Development Project (PdP)
Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH) Creativity and Innovation Centre "LinkMenų fabrikas" is excited to announce its first-time participation in Aalto University’s renowned Product Development Project (PdP) course for the academic year 2024-2025. This hands-on course, now in its 28th year, offers students an unparalleled opportunity to engage in real-world product development, collaborating with actual companies and working in interdisciplinary teams.
A Call for VILNIUS TECH Students
For this participation, four highly motivated VILNIUS TECH students – primarily master’s students in technology, engineering, business, and product design, as well as final-year bachelor’s students in product design – will be selected to join this prestigious program. Over nine months, from September 2024 to May 2025, these students will work remotely with peers from Aalto University and other global institutions, applying their academic knowledge to tackle real industry challenges.
The course follows a passion-based learning (PBL) methodology. The challenges are given and sponsored by industry partners, who are searching for innovative cooperation with the next generation of product developers.
Visiting Aalto University
The course includes two mandatory visits to Aalto University in Finland: first in October 2024 for a hands-on experience workshop, and again in May 2025 for the Product Design Gala where the teams present their final functional prototypes of a tangible product or service solution for their industry challenge.
These visits will be funded by Aalto University and the VILNIUS TECH Erasmus+ (covering travel expenses and daily allowance).
More Information and Introductory PdP Lecture
This collaboration offers VILNIUS TECH students the chance to gain practical experience, build international networks, and prepare for their professional careers. Applications are due by September 9th, 2024. The selection process is on a first-come, first-served basis, so if we find suitable candidates, the registration will be closed early.
Upon completing this programme, students will earn between 10 and 15 ECTS credits (this course is suitable for those seeking professional practice opportunities).
