Winner of the Architectural Drawing Competition at the International Art Fair
In the spring, the annual Architectural Drawing Competition of Lithuanian Higher Schools of Architecture was held, the winner of which was Agna Petkevičiūtė, an Architecture student of VILNIUS TECH.
The theme of this year's competition is "Reincarnated Architecture". The competition was aimed at imagining and drawing architecture that has not just one, but a multitude of life cycles, and in each of them takes on different forms and functions. Reincarnation refers to the continuity of the essence, the substance of the "work", independent of the change of its forms. The "belief" in the reincarnation of architecture opens up a world of changing envelopes in which all living and non-living species are in a constant and all-encompassing metamorphosis.
The prizes were awarded to VILNIUS TECH students:
1st place: Agna Petkevičiūtė;
2nd place: Artūras Butkus;
3rd place: Bernard Radivilovič.
The participants were awarded with "Artseria" books and invitations to visit the international art fair "Art Compensa". The winners were also presented with invitations from the National Museum of Lithuania and gift vouchers from "ARTINN". The winner received two special invitations: the opportunity to hold a solo exhibition at the VILNIUS TECH Library and to present her work at the international art fair "Art Compensa", which will take place on 24 - 26 May 2024.
2024 Evaluation Panel:
Linas Jusionis (painter, second prize winner of the Young Painter Prize competition, his works are included in the collections of the MO Museum, Lewben Art Foundation, BTA Art and private Lithuanian and foreign collectors);
Magdalena Beliavska (architect, participant of the Archfund Experiments Platform and co-founder of Paper.Digital, graduate of VILNIUS TECH, who took part in the drawing competition three times during her studies and won two prizes);
Vaida Ragėnaitė (PhD student in Art History at Vilnius Academy of Arts, Head of the Lithuanian Artists' Union publishing house Artseria).
VILNIUS TECH The Department of Architectural Fundamentals, Theory and Art of the Faculty of Architecture organises the Architectural Drawing Competition every year.
The author and curator of the competition is the artist and lecturer of the Faculty of Architecture of VILNIUS TECH, Dr. Prof. Audrius Novickas. Assisted by Assoc. Prof. Lilija Puipienė and lecturer Arūnas Gudaitis.
Sponsors: "ARTINN", "Artseria", National Museum of Lithuania, "Art Compensa", VILNIUS TECH Library.
