VILNIUS TECH is one of the two technical universities in Lithuania and only one technical university in Vilnius, the capital city of Lithuania. Our University was established in 1956 as Vilnius Department of Kaunas Polytechnic Institute. In 1969 it was reorganised into Vilnius Civil Engineering Institute, acquired the status and title of Vilnius Technical University in 1990, and was renamed to Vilnius Gediminas Technical University in 1997. The name of Gediminas was given to the University in honour of the Great Duke of Lithuania Gediminas, who is considered to be the founder of Vilnius (in 1323). Rector assisted by four Vice-Rectors and Chancellor governs the University. The highest decision making body is University Senate. Distance from VILNIUS TECH:

From the VILNIUS TECH Station (stop "GEDIMINO TECHNIKOS UNIVERSITETAS") BUS line No 18 (Timetable: http://stops.lt/vilnius/#bus/18/a-b/1003/en) in approx. 15 min will take you to Conference D i n n e r (Kairėnų str. 45) (stop “KAIRĖNAI”).

TAXI SERVICES
Vilnius International Airport is located approximately 6 km south of the city and 15 km away from the Conference venue.
Travel time by public transport from the Airport to the VILNIUS TECH is 20 min.
Vilnius Airport approved taxi rank can be found just in front of the arrivals terminal.
All taxi cabs accept cash and credit cards.
 
PASSPORT, VISA
Please carefully check passport and visa regulations for travel to Lithuania. The official invitations will be prepared by Secretary or Chairman of your section upon such request.

SOCIAL PROGRAMME
The organisers will prepare several social events during the Conference. The conference dinner will be organised for the participants in the evening of the first day of the Conference. Excursion and other sightseeing activities will be organised. Detailed social programme will be announced later.
