New dissertation
VILNIUS TECH Library invites you to follow the published new dissertations. The dissertation „Improving image captioning methods using machine learning approaches“ („Tretinio nuotekų valymo filtro užpildų tyrimai ir įrenginio kūrimas“) prepared by VILNIUS TECH, Julita Šarko. The dissertation was prepared in 2019–2023, supervisor Assoc. Prof. Dr Aušra Mažeikienė.
The dissertation was defended at the public meeting of the Dissertation Defence Council of the Scientific Field of Environmental Engineering in the Senate Hall of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University at 10 a. m. on 19 June 2023.
The dissertation investigates the development of a tertiary wastewater treatment unit, which can be used to reduce further (after the main – biological treatment) wastewater pollution. The main object of the research is sorbent filter media suitable for tertiary wastewater treatment and devices for the reduction of nitrogen and phosphorus compounds after biological wastewater treatment. The goal of the dissertation is to create a low-flow tertiary wastewater treatment unit that would be used in real conditions after basic (biological) treatment to remove phosphorus and nitrogen compounds from biologically treated wastewater would not use chemical reagents and electricity, and would be easy to operate and safe.
