New doctoral dissertation
VILNIUS TECH Library invites you to follow the published new dissertations. The dissertation “Research of piezoelectric ringing suppression in Pockels cells” prepared by VILNIUS TECH, Faculty of Electronics, Giedrius Sinkevičius, is presented in Lithuanian. The dissertation was prepared in 2017–2021, supervisors – prof. dr. Algirdas Baškys.
The dissertation was defended at the public meeting of the Dissertation Defense Council of Electrical and Electronic Engineering in the Senate Hall of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University at 10 a. m. on 9 November 2021.
„The dissertation conducts research and proposes solutions to increase the optical contrast of Pockels cells by suppressing the piezoelectric ringing caused by the high voltage pulses, which are used for the control of the cell. The dependence of the optical contrast of Pockels cells on the duration and frequency of high voltage pulses was investigated experimentally. Resonant frequencies were detected and the propagation of acoustic waves in the Pockels cell crystal was investigated. An active piezoelectric oscillation suppression method is proposed and a high voltage high frequency pulse generator is developed to implement this method.“
