New doctoral dissertation
VILNIUS TECH Library invites you to follow the published new dissertations. The dissertation „The impact of the human and social capital of the board of directors on the internationalization of small and medium-sized enterprises“ prepared by VILNIUS TECH, Monika Bužavaitė, is presented in Lithuanian. The dissertation was prepared in 2017–2022, supervisors – Assoc. Prof. Dr Renata Korsakienė.
The dissertation was defended at the public meeting of the DissertationDefenseCouncil of Management in the Senate Hall of Vilnius Gediminas Technical Universityat1 p. m. on 18 May 2022.
„Fragmented studies analyze SME internationalization fromperspectivesofinternational entrepreneurship and resource-based view, consideringtheroleofthe board and the board’s capital (Bjørnåli & Aspelund, 2012; Barrosoet al.,2011; Fernhaber et al., 2009; Oxelheim et al., 2013; Athanassiou &Nigh, 2002;Calabro et al., 2017; Volonté & Gantenbein, 2016; Calabrò &Mussolino, 2013;Calabrò et al., 2009; Johannisson & Huse, 2000; Bauweraerts et al., 2019;Jermias & Gani, 2014); thus, the phenomenon requires a deeper inquiry. Thisdoctoral thesis investigates the board of directors as a formal or informalintermediate link between SME owners and managers by consideringthehumanand social capital of the board as a basis for effectively conductingtheboard’stasks in different development stages of SMEs, impacting internationalperformance.“
