New Exhibition by Morta Davidavičienė "From city to country: a photo story about the experiences of country settlers"
Morta Davidavičienė was born in 1998 and grew up in Vilnius. As a graduate of Vilnius Christian Gymnasium, she organized her first exhibition of works. At the time, photography was just a hobby, and photographing people was a secret dream. Today, she is a graduate of applied photography at the Vilnius College of Design, whose main photographic goal is to capture human life.
"From the city to the country: a photo story about the experience of country settlers" is the final project of my studies, as well as the second personal exhibition. While the migration of people from cities to country is not a new phenomenon, the lack of detailed visual narratives on the subject still prevents people from understanding what the life of urban emigrants in the countryside really looks like. So with this story, my curiosity as an urbanite will open the door to the experience of counry settlers. Why did they decide to change their usual place of residence? What are the positive and negative aspects of country life? Did they "bring" city to the country? What does their life look like now? Morta Davidavičienė
