Transformative Agreements with international publishers valid for VILNIUS TECH authors
The Lithuanian Research Library Consortium (LMBA) has signed transformative agreements with international publishers, which not only provide full access to the publishers' subscribed content, but also allow the authors of the institutions subscribing to the publishers' resources to publish articles in the publishers' journals in an Open Access manner without paying APC taxes.
These agreements with publishers allow authors not only to avoid the bureaucratic burden of APC payments, but also provide published results with greater visibility and, accordingly, citation opportunities, and also ensure compliance with project funders' requirements to publish project results in an open access manner while maintaining copyright since all articles published through transformative agreements are published under a CC BY 4.0 license.
VILNIUS TECH authors can publish their articles in open access free-of-charge in ACS Publications and IOP Publishing journals.
NEW! IOP Publishing have added a new journal Reports on Progress in Physics (eISSN: 1361-6633) in their proposal, in which VILNIUS TECH authors can also publish their articles free-of-charge.
In order to take advantage of the opportunity provided by the transitional agreements to publish articles free of charge in open access, when submitting their manuscripts for publication, authors must indicate the institution they represent in the manuscript submission system of the selected journal and ensure that the institution's representation is also clearly indicated in the article itself. Article submission systems automatically check whether, according to the institution indicated by the author, he may be eligible for free publishing or discounts on the APC fee, and transmit the relevant information to the authors and the administrators of the represented institution or consortium.
Important! Only corresponding authors affiliated to an institution which has signed a transformative agreement with a publisher can publish open access for free. The authors must use institutional e-mails.
The terms of the agreements and the course of application may differ depending on the publisher, so authors are recommended to recommend delve into the valid contracts signed with the publishers before submitting their manuscripts for publication.
