VILNIUS TECH Orientation Days for international students
On 27, 30 and 31 August, Orientation days for incoming international students are taking place at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH).
This year, 278 exchange students will start their one or two-semester studies at the University. The majority of students come from France, Spain, Germany, Turkey and Portugal.
The biggest number of Bachelor’s degree students will be studying at the Faculties of Business Management, Fundamental Sciences, Electronics and Mechanics, and Master’s degree students – the Faculty of Mechanics and Business Management.
In total 392 degree students are starting their studies at VILNIUS TECH this autumn. Most of them come from India, Azerbaijan, Nigeria, Turkey and Belarus.
Most Bachelor’s degree students have chosen the study programmes of Information Technologies, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics and Robotics, and the biggest number of Master’s degree students will study the programmes of Architecture, Business Leadership, Industrial Engineering and Innovation Management, Information and Information Technology Security.
The international students are a vital part of the University community, who act as their county „ambassadors“! „This year, we have a very special admission in terms of the great numbers of enrolled students and the turbulent environment due to the impact of Covid-19. Yet, physical distance does not mean social distance. Studies at the University become a personal career journey for each student. Be our agents, missionaries! The academic ecosystem is eager to have a more international vibe. Cherish every moment, have a super great stay here with us! – said the Vice-Rector for Strategic Partnership Dr Asta Radzevičienė, in her welcome speech.
The Orientation Days are filled with presentations on University and Vilnius city life, study process and leisure activities, as well as tips and recommendations, to ensure a safe and pleasant stay in the county. Students have a great opportunity to meet Faculty coordinators and mentors.
The presentations and meetings are complemented with a wide range of cultural events such as Welcome Picnic, Lithuanian Cultural Evening, Guided City Tour, Welcome Party.
Orientation days for international students are organised by VILNIUS TECH International Relations Office, Erasmus Student Network (ESN VILNIUS TECH) and International Studies Centre.
