VILNIUS TECH sends AGAI and TIF graduates into a new life stage
The diploma awarding ceremonies at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH) are gaining momentum – on Wednesday morning, graduates of the Antanas Gustaitis aviation institute (AGAI) and the Faculty of Transport engineering (TIF) received their first and second-cycle diplomas.
AGAI and TIF graduates, having obtained a higher university education, were congratulated by chancellor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vaidotas Trinkunas. According to the chancellor, the received diploma is proof of consistent and persistent work that was started in school. Assoc. Prof. Dr. V. Trinkunas wished the graduates to continue learning, to make VILNIUS TECH's name famous through their work, and effectively manage their future challenges.
"As leaders, you will have to use the acquired knowledge and experience, take care of your teams, and the well-being of all of Lithuania, strive to preserve what independence has provided you with – the opportunity to obtain a high-quality higher education, do a desired job, travel, and freely express your thoughts, something not all countries in the world have," said chancellor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vaidotas Trinkunas.
This sentiment was echoed by the dean of the Antanas Gustaitis aviation institute, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Linas Juknevicius, who compared the diploma to a ticket to freedom, allowing one to freely choose the direction of the upcoming journey in life.
Saulius Bajarunas, COO of the aircraft repair and maintenance company FL Technics, wished AGAI graduates to have a good flight. He urged them not to stop at this stage – to continue deepening their scientific knowledge and gaining practical skills.
"The aviation industry is growing and changing rapidly, but one thing certainly remains constant – the need for qualified professionals. Artificial intelligence will not replace you. It can design an airplane, but only a human can pilot and repair it. The human factor in aviation is critically important," said FL Technics COO Saulius Bajarunas.
Following the congratulatory speeches dedicated to the AGAI graduates, diplomas were awarded to the graduates of the Faculty of Transport engineering. TIF dean Prof. Dr. Olegas Prentkovskis thanked them for a good journey through the university paths and stated that this is just another stop, after which the route does not end.
On the occasion of their graduation, VILNIUS TECH Transport engineering faculty alumnus, and member of the board of the logistics company GIRTEKA GROUP, Edvardas Liachovicius, also congratulated the graduates.
"I'll put it very simply and practically – you have done a great job, but do not forget to be grateful to the professors, the university, and your loved ones, without whom your dream would hardly be possible," said E. Liachovicius.
The diploma awarding ceremony was concluded with speeches by the graduates. Antanas Gustaitis aviation institute graduate Deividas Aliukas and Faculty of Transport engineering graduate Lijana Zaksauskaite thanked the VILNIUS TECH community, their loved ones, and their fellow students, and wished them to reach new heights.
"A diploma is not just a piece of paper – it is a symbol of hard work, perseverance, and determination. The university was like an airport for us, where our biggest dreams took off, where we formed our values like flight plans, and most importantly, where we learnt not to be afraid to dream and to strive for more," shared AGAI graduate Deividas Aliukas.
"I want to celebrate every student – you did everything you could, and you should thank yourselves for that. I hope that these four years full of challenges have provided you with knowledge that will be useful in your career and your personal life," congratulated TIF graduate Lijana Zaksauskaite.
Thursday – the third day of diploma awarding. Diplomas will be awarded to graduates of the Faculty of Environmental engineering, the Faculty of Civil engineering, the Faculty of Mechanics, and the Faculty of Electronics.
June 20 (Thursday):
11 a.m. – Ceremony for faculty of Environmental engineering and Faculty of Civil engineering.
3 p.m. – Ceremony for faculty of Mechanics and Faculty of Electronics.
Please arrive on time and do not be late for the ceremonies, as the doors of the hall cannot be opened due to the specifics of the performances.
