Invitation to a Lecture Series on Academic Ethics

Throughout November, we invite all students and lecturers to actively participate in and attend a series of open lectures on the highly relevant topics of academic ethics and research quality. These lectures are an excellent opportunity to gain practical knowledge that will be useful for writing term papers or final theses, conducting scientific research, and preparing publications.

During the lectures, you will learn:
  • How to cite correctly and avoid plagiarism, even when using artificial intelligence tools.
  • What is considered academic misconduct and how simple mistakes can turn into serious problems.
  • How to ethically and correctly plan your research—from hypothesis to data collection.
  • Why science sometimes turns into falsehood and how to recognize data falsification, fabrication, or unethical authorship.
  • How to present your research results in a way that is understandable to everyone and how to increase public trust in science.
  • What Citizen Science is and how each of us can contribute to discoveries.
This knowledge will help you succeed in your academic and research activities and will contribute to fostering a transparent and ethical academic culture. A strong ethical foundation is an integral part of a successful career in science and in any other professional field.
