Sustainability Hub Orientation Days for International Students

Orientation Days for International Students

2025-08-28 10:00

As the new academic year approaches, VILNIUS TECH is eagerly awaiting the arrival of its international students. To ensure their integration into the academic community and life in Vilnius is as smooth as possible, the International Relations Office, together with the active student team from ESN VILNIUS TECH, is organising a special Orientation Days programme.

The event, taking place from August 28th to September 1st, is designed for all newly arriving students—both full-degree newcomers and those joining through exchange programmes.

A Packed Start: The First Days at the University

Everything will kick off on Thursday, August 28th, at the VILNIUS TECH Central Building (S1, Saulėtekio al. 11). Starting from 10:00 AM, students are invited to register, where they will not only officially confirm their arrival but also receive special welcome packs filled with university merchandise.

The official programme begins at 11:00 AM. Students will be welcomed by university representatives, followed by a series of informational presentations. On the first day, students will learn everything about the study process, university administration, and available services. They will also be introduced to leisure activities in Vilnius, with representatives from "GO Vilnius" and "JUDU" sharing tips on how to explore and get around the city. Significant attention will also be given to practical matters such as safety, emergency services, and available psychological support. The day will conclude with an introduction to the activities of student organisations (SA and ESN), and the evening will be capped off with a Grand Lithuanian Cultural Evening.

The programme continues on Friday, August 29th. Students will be introduced to the VILNIUS TECH Sports and Arts Centre, the rules of living in the university dormitories, the exchange mobility process, and will even have the chance to learn their first Lithuanian words in an introductory language lecture. Following the informational sessions, a variety of activities await: a campus tour, a guided tour of Vilnius Old Town, and a fun Pub Quiz to help them get to know their new friends.

Entertainment and Integration: From ErasMusical Night to Creators'Fest

Although the main programme on August 28–29th is the same for everyone, the following days are packed with various activities. Students can look forward to events organised by ESN VILNIUS TECH, including the Freshman's Celebration, the ErasMusical Night, the Navigation Race city game, and a special Day with your Mentor.

On September 1st, all international students are invited to the official opening ceremony of the academic year, followed by an evening at the VILNIUS TECH Creators'Fest, the best festival of the new academic year opening, which will be held at LinkMenų fabrikas (Linkmenų g. 28, Vilnius)

Key Meetings: Time to Meet the Faculty Coordinators

From September 1st, one of the most crucial parts of the programme will take place: meetings with faculty coordinators. This is when students will receive all the relevant academic information related to their specific study programme, schedules, and assessments. A different date, time and location is scheduled for exchange and full-time students of each faculty, so everyone is encouraged to check the programme carefully and not miss their designated meeting.

These Orientation days are a perfect start to life in a new city and university. The VILNIUS TECH team aims to create a welcoming environment, helping students adapt more quickly, make new friends, and successfully begin their studies.

Students can find more information and the detailed event programme in the materials sent to them.
