The participants of this course will acquire the knowledge, understanding and abilities necessary to correctly identify the factors that determine sustainable development, successfully integrate the principles of sustainable development in various types of organisations, and effectively assess and measure an organisation's sustainable development.


Topics covered in the course: 

• Introduction to Sustainable Development. Overview of EU and Lithuanian documents related to sustainable development.
• 3 areas of sustainable development: economic, social and environmental sustainability - at the micro, mezzo (industry or city), macro level. Links of sustainable development and integration into sustainable management of the organization.
• Sustainable development in the organization. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Sustainable development indices and indicators.
• Environmental aspects: carbon footprint, CO2 compensation, CO2 credits, energy consumption, water footprint, waste generation and management.
• Social aspects: stakeholder participation, employee welfare, business ethics and social responsibility. 
• Economic aspects. How do we achieve sustainable development? The role of investment in sustainable development. Measurement and evaluation methods for sustainable development.
• Accountability for sustainable development. Sustainable development reporting systems (GRI, SABS, Etc.)
• Sustainable development of the organisation as a guarantor of increasing the organisation's value. Assessment and analysis of the relationship between organisational value, financial performance and sustainable development.

Who is this course for? Anyone who needs to be able to identify and propose actions to achieve the environmental, social and economic goals of sustainable development. The ability to interpret and analyse sustainability reports and assess the performance of an organization.
