Green energy

GREEN ENERGY course will provide knowledge about sustainable and environmentally friendly energy generation and transformation systems. In the last 15 years, many EU legal acts have been adopted, which oblige member countries to expand the market of renewable energy resources, implement sustainability policies, not waste energy, and choose environmentally friendly solutions. Renewable energy sources (wind, solar, geothermal, ocean energy, etc.) are an alternative to fossil fuels that help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, diversify the energy supply, and reduce dependence on unreliable and unstable fossil fuel markets (especially oil and gas).

Topics covered in the course:
  • Introduction, principles of sustainable development. Political and strategic environment of energy.
  • Energy resources, their classification, consumption history, forecasts (in the World, Europe and Lithuania).
  • Solar energy, resources and transformation technologies.
  • Wind energy, resources and transformation technologies.
  • Hydropower, resources and transformation technologies.
  • Bioenergy, its resources and transformation technologies. Bioenergy - can it be green energy?
  • Geothermal energy, resources and transformation technologies.
  • Methods and technologies of energy accumulation.

Who is this course for?  The course is intended for those working in the public sector, engineering companies, design, sales or sustainable development. Suitable as a refresher module with no prior knowledge required.
