This left the four strongest teams, Sportiki, Bičiuliai, Baudėjai iš ISM and SMEX Tauras ir draugai. The ISM team, which made its debut in our tournaments for the first time, had a large crowd of supporters who stood up and cheered for every point. The opposing teams fought hard. Sportiki did better in the first set and won the first set with 15:11. In the second set, Sportiki changed its starting six and lost 14:15 to ISM penalties. In the third set both teams fought for every point, but in the decisive moment "Baudjai i ISM" scored the winning point and snatched the victory with a score of 9:8. The Vilnius Student Sports Festival kicked off the autumn-winter season with a beach volleyball tournament on an extraordinary autumn day. 20 September is International University Sports Day. To celebrate this day, we invited students from higher education institutions in Vilnius to participate in a 3x3 beach volleyball tournament. VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT
The VILNIUS TECH volleyball tournament was won by the "Ibuprofen" team
On 24 April this year the VILNIUS TECH sports hall hosted a volleyball tournament, which was open to the university community, as well as the teachers and students of the VGTU Engineering Lyceum. 8 teams registered for the tournament and were divided into two subgroups of 4 teams each.
Fierce battles broke out, neither team wanted to give up easily, with the points going one way or the other. In the first subgroup, the intrigue of who would take the second place continued until the last battles. All teams had the opportunity to qualify for the semi-finals. But after the "Svajonių komanda" lost against the "VGTU licėjaus mokytojai" team, there was no more intrigue, and it was the guests from VGTU Engineering Lyceum who made it to the semi-finals.
In the second subgroup, after intriguing battles, three teams scored the same number of points, so the ratio of won and lost points was calculated. The results showed that Ibuprofen came first and „Žilevana“ came second. The semi-finals were also very interesting and every point was fought for. The first team to win was "Ibuprofen", which defeated "VGTU licėjaus mokytojai" by 25:20, and the second team to qualify for the finals to fight for the first place was the team of "Gausit malkų", which defeated the team of "Žilevana" by 25:21. For the third place, the VGTU Engineering Lyceum Teachers' Team took the match very seriously, concentrated, and won by 25:18. The battle for the first place promised an unpredictable result, as every point was fought for, but in the middle of the match one of the players of the "Gaust malkų" team got a serious injury and dropped out of the further fight, the team's game came to a standstill, and the victory was celebrated by the "Ibuprofen" team.

WINTER RUNNING 2025-01-24 12:00
On 24 January, the FTMC Winter Run, a running event for scientific institutions staff, took place in Vilnius, with 50 participants (and a four-legged dog) from 7 institutions.
The latter number is a record in the history of FTMC cross-country, and for the first time, not only "precisionists", but also humanitarians ran together!
Vilnius University, VILNIUS TECH, Institute of Lithuanian Literature and Folklore, Lithuanian Institute of Agrarian and Forestry Science,s Lithuanian Institute of History and Mykolas Romeris University staff successfully conquered the hilly 1, 3, 6 and 9 km courses in Sapieginė Park.
Thank you to all the participants for the good mood and good time you brought with you. We wish you daily victories both in your work and in your sporting activities!
The FTMC Winter Cross is the fifth edition of the event, which takes place during autumn, winter, and spring. We care not only about high scientific results but also about people's psychological and physical well-being.
When both mind and body are working, our daily routine changes for the better, as scientific studies have shown time and again. That is why we want to promote an active lifestyle, strengthen friendships, and set a good example for others.
The next cross-country event will take place in April. Stay tuned and see you there!
