Physical Activity and Health
"Physical Activity and Health" is an optional subject:
· a chance to choose a desired sports programme;
· professional trainers;
· Ability to count the calories of daily physical activity is taught.
The 1st – 3rd year students can choose this module in February 2023 (until 26th of February) for the autumn or spring semester of 2023/2024 (3 credits, SMSSB93702).
This module is designed for 1st-4th year students and allows to choose one of the following sports’ programmes: basketball, volleyball, tennis, athletic gymnastics, self-defense without a fire-arm, judo, sambo, body design, Nordic walking, etc.
During the training, students systematically improve physical characteristics, psychophysical powers, abilities and skills important for professional development. The focus is on enhancing endurance, physical power, movement coordination and establishing regular exercise regime as well as other sport’s skills.
Students' abilities are assessed by cumulative scores obtained according to the system of summary evaluation. The final assessment consists of the technique by topic score in a chosen sports programme, the attendance and cumulative score system.

Healthy Lifestyle
"Healthy Lifestyle" is an optional subject :
· a chance to choose a desired sports programme;
· professional trainers;
· Ability to count the calories of daily physical activity is taught.
The 1st – 3rd year students can choose this module in February 2023 (until 26th of February) for the autumn or spring semester of 2023/2024 (3 credits, SMSSB93802).
The aim of the module is to provide students with knowledge that helps to understand the impact of biomedical, social, cultural and behavioural factors on human health and to teach how to manage these factors.
The training introduces the forms of physical activity based on selected sports programmes (basketball, volleyball, tennis, athletic gymnastics, self-defense without a weapon, Nordic walking, etc.), helps to develop skills to maintain healthy lifestyle and a habit of consistent, systematic physical activity.
The criteria for assessing students: attendance, the summary of students' self-management tests’ results together with healthy lifestyle self-track diary (1 day) indicators and the submission of recommendations for ways to enhance the physical well-being.
