Research Group Leader Position
Vilnius Gediminas Technical University announces a public competition for the position of research supervisor for the implementation of an R&D project under progress measure No. 12-003-03-06-01 "Improving the Science and Study Environment," activity "Increasing the Attractiveness of Research Careers and Promoting Brain Circulation – My First Research Team" (hereinafter referred to as MPK).
Each Research Group Leader lead one thematic area.
Applications are submitted separately in 6 thematic areas:
- Research and development of hybrid piezoelectric linear motion actuators for nanosatellites.
- Artificial Intelligence-based Methods for Robust Environmental Perception in Autonomous Ground Transport Systems
- Development of special-effect-resistant composite modules and their structural application for the protection of civil infrastructure against dynamic loads and fire impacts
- Research and development of AI-optimized, energy-efficient and sustainable small-batch gasification technology
- Development and Investigation of Wide-Bandgap Semiconductor Integrated Circuits for Modern Communication and Intelligent Transportation Systems
- Environmentally neutral road construction materials for sustainable asphalt pavements
Position - Research Group Leader will be employed in one of the research positions in accordance with the qualification requirements. Selected candidates will receive a fixed-term full-time appointment of up to three years along with a budget of 350,000 EUR to support the formation of the research group. Funding includes the salaries of the Research Group Leader and team members, as well as all essential costs required to implement the proposed research.
The research supervisor will be responsible for:
- developing and implementing research topics;
- assembling and coordinating a team of researchers;
- ensuring the quality, dissemination, and impact of the project's scientific results;
- the involvement of doctoral students, postdoctoral fellows, and young researchers;
- international cooperation and researcher mobility.
Qualification requirements
Applicants must:
Applicants must:
- hold a doctoral degree in technology sciences;
- be a young scientist (no more than 7 years since obtaining a doctoral degree, excluding breaks provided for in legislation);
- have been actively engaged in scientific activities over the past 5 years;
- not have led any LMT-funded projects specified in the MPK description;
- have experience in organizing research, publishing, and international cooperation.
