ADMISSION
Applying for exchange studies at VGTU
Please fill in the VGTU Application form for exchange students. Make sure your university sends us your nomination by email/post so we would activate your application.
The documents to be sent by regular post after completing the application online:
1. Learning Agreement containing the subjects you have chosen to study at VGTU (3 copies).
2. Transcript of records - containing already obtained academic credits and results at your home university (in English)
3. Passport/ID copy
4. Bachelor/Master diploma copy (for Master/PhD students only)

No tuition fees for the registration and admission procedures are required from the exchange students.
After the admission procedures exchange students are contacted by their Mentors directly.

Lithuanian Language Course
The Lithuanian Language Course (LLC) offers international students the opportunity to study one of the oldest languages in the world. Both Lithuanian and Latvian are derived from the Baltic branch of the Indo-European family of languages.
Students can take basic LLC which will help with daily life in Lithuania. Students who plan to attend LLC at VGTU must mark the corresponding field on the general VGTU Application Form. The courses are free of charge and will be organized at a convenient time. Successful completion of the course is worth 3 ECTS credits.
Alternatively, students can attend the Erasmus Intensive Lithuanian Language Course organized before autumn term and spring term. The courses will provide basic language skills as well as an overview of the social, cultural, political and economic situation of Lithuania.

Admission Requirements
Step 1
The student must be enrolled at an institution of higher education in the home country and be selected by the home institution to study at VGTU within exhange programme.
Step 2
The home institution coordinator must inform the VGTU International Relations Office by email or fax that the student has been selected to study at VGTU within exchange programme.
Step 3
The student must complete the online Application Form, and send the Learning Agreement and Transcript of Records by fax or email AND by post to the VGTU International Relations Office.
Step 4
The VGTU International Relations Office must send a signed Learning Agreement and official invitation letter to the International Relations Office of the home institution.

- Curriculum Vitae - Europass.
- Transcript of Records (in English) Certified By Your Home Institution (completed academic credits and English language scores)(http://senas.vgtu.lt/upload/urd/akademinis_israsas_incoming.doc) ;
- Copy of your passport or ID (must be valid for at least 3 months after the conclusion of your placement in Lithuania)
And other documents, if the company/organization requires.
All documents must be completed electronically, signed and stamped, as required. The application package (pdf format) must be sent to the VGTU International Relations Office by email. Incomplete application packages will not be accepted.
Please note: we require a minimum of 1 month to process your application package and to explore possible placement for you.
The VGTU International Relations Office or a Lithuanian company will contact you by email with the final decision in the form of either an invitation letter or a refusal letter.

BACKIS @ VGTU
BACKIS is an Erasmus Mundus Action 2 project funded by the European Commission with the goal to facilitate mobility between universities from Caucasia Countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia) and Ukraine to European Universities of the Project consortium including the Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU).

The PANACEA Project
PANACEA is an Erasmus Mundus Action 2 project funded by the European Commission with the goal to create European and Asian Network for Sharing Cooperation on Environment and Health and facilitate knowledge exchange through mobility.
