September 1st Program: let's start the new academic year with celebration
The VILNIUS TECH community can't wait to start the new academic year, welcome another generation of students, and continue the journey through the world of knowledge with all the creators of tomorrow. So, we are presenting the program for this special celebration.
- 11:00 AM: An opening ceremony for the academic year will be held in the courtyard of the VILNIUS TECH Central Building (S1) (Saulėtekio al. 11, Vilnius). During the ceremony, we will greet the new students and symbolically welcome the first-year students into the university community through the traditional matriculation.
- 12:00 PM: The opening celebration for the academic year will begin at the Lithuanian Maritime Academy (LMA) in the Aula Magna hall (I. Kanto g. 7, Klaipėda).
- 12:15–1:30 PM: All first-year students from the Vilnius faculties are invited to their first lecture in the Aula Magna hall (S1, 2nd floor). This is where each newcomer's personal journey begins—a journey towards a goal that many might not even dare to dream of aloud today. For some, it becomes a map to help them find their way; for others, as they say, it's "where the bravest version of my life began".
- 12:30 PM: LMA foreign students are invited to participate in the game "My Maritime Name" and take their first student photo. More information can be found here.
- From 1:30 PM: LMA first-year foreign students are invited to learn essential information at the lecture-meeting "My Studies at VILNIUS TECH LMA" (this will include meetings with heads of departments, lecturers, and department administrators).
- 4:30 PM: The traditional Holy Mass for the start of the academic year will be held at Vilniaus šv. vysk. Stanislovo ir šv. Vladislovo arkikatedra bazilika (Katedros g. 2, Vilnius). The Mass will be led by Archbishop Gintaras Grušas.
- From 4:00 PM: We invite everyone to the biggest opening festival of the academic year, VILNIUS TECH CREATORS' FEST, which will take place at "LinkMenų fabrikas" (Linkmenų g. 28, Vilnius).
This year, we're celebrating twice as loud, memorably, and with more people – the festival has grown over four years! All attendees can expect two music hangars, as many as six bands and famous artists, even more entertainment, new experiences, new acquaintances, and all of it – FREE!
This VILNIUS TECH festival is special—it includes everyone. Under the bouncing hangar roofs, everyone dances: first-year students and alumni, deans and rectors, foreigners and locals. Even the neighbors living nearby join in!
There will be plenty of choice: the festival will feature not only well-known stars from Lithuania but also up-and-coming alternative music bands.
