There's still time: announcing additional admissions to the following study programs
After the main stage of admissions to higher education institutions concluded, the VILNIUS TECH university community is pleased to have welcomed as many as 1,394 students. If you dreamt of studying but didn't manage to get in – don't worry, there's still time.
We spoke with Dr. Justė Rožėnė, director of the Admissions and information centre at VILNIUS TECH, to learn more about the significant interest in studies, entry trends, and additional admissions to study programs.
Increased popularity brings joy
According to VILNIUS TECH, this year, interest in studies has significantly increased, with 11.34% more students invited to study compared to the previous year. Dr. Justė Rožėnė identifies several different factors responsible for this.
"First, VILNIUS TECH offers study programs relevant to the current market needs. Second, businesses are establishing scholarships and offering internships and jobs, which also increases the appeal of studying. And, of course, studying should be enjoyable.
We are looking forward to welcoming freshmen in renovated spaces: new buildings for the Faculties of Mechanics, Transport engineering, and Electronics engineering, as well as renovated buildings for the Faculties of Creative industries and Architecture located in the Old Town of Vilnius. Additionally, €14 million will be allocated for the renovation of dormitories," the interviewee lists.
"By constantly communicating with our alumni, we see that they successfully realise themselves not only in Lithuania but also beyond," Dr. Justė Rožėnė notes. "Seeing this, we are strengthening the internationalisation of our studies, striving to provide students with opportunities to study in an international environment, and encouraging them to pursue partial studies at prestigious foreign universities."
Few spots left
This year, the most popular study programs at VILNIUS TECH were Multimedia and Computer design, Creative industries, Software engineering, and Aviation mechanics engineering.
"In summary, the most popular fields of study at VILNIUS TECH this year were engineering and informatics. Although these fields are highly in demand in the market, studies in mathematics and technology attracted fewer applicants," says the director of the Admissions and information centre.
If you missed the main admission, not all is lost. Those who did not submit documents during previous stages can participate in the additional admission. This also applies to those who are unsure about their choice and want to go for a different study program to the one they put as number one.
"Those who want to secure state-funded places, if there are still unfilled spots in the field of study, can also try their luck," the interviewee explains. "This year, applicants were confident in their choices – 75% of applicants selected VILNIUS TECH as their first preference, and nearly all who received an invitation to study signed study agreements. This means that very few state-funded places are left for the subsequent stages, but it's worth trying."

Study programs to choose from
Dr. Justė Rožėnė highlights that there are several study programs available for those interested in studying. Vacancies can be found in study programs such as Avionics, Data analysis technology, Medical engineering, Transport engineering economics and logistics, Sustainability technologies, Computer engineering, and Business logistics.
She emphasises that VILNIUS TECH should be the choice for those interested in innovation and aspiring to become creators of the future. Choosing a field of study is also not difficult – it's important to consider your abilities, opportunities, and interests.
"We first recommend selecting a field of study. If you like analysing, spotting inaccuracies, and working with numbers, the field of mathematics would suit you well. On the other hand, if you are drawn to taking risks, buying, selling, and bringing people together, business management would be the most suitable field for you.
If you enjoy solving puzzles and complex situations and can make unique decisions, choose the field of engineering. If you are interested in programming and online security, the field of informatics will be a good fit for you. For those interested in natural sciences and their applications, the best choice would be the field of technology. If you are interested in people's hobbies, want to create images, texts, organise events, and can captivate people, choose social sciences," Dr. Justė Rožėnė smiles and invites you to the additional admissions at VILNIUS TECH University.
