A guest lecturer doc. Ing. Juraj Mišún about controlling - to verify or to control?
Doc. Ing. Juraj Mišún, PhD. is an associate professor at the University of Economics in Bratislava, Faculty of Business Management, Department of Management. He is the head of the subdivision of business management and was responsible for the basic management course for all faculties of the university. He currently teaches domestic and international students in Control, Managerial Decision Making as well as Management courses. His research focuses on changes in management due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and various aspects of control in management.
We invite everyone on December 7th at 12:10 in SRK-I 716 aud. and on December 8th at 8:30 in SRK-713 aud. to listen the lectures. The topic - "Controlling vs. Controlling - to verify or to control?" Two controlling terms: half a century of quiet coexistence (scenarios for further possible developments).
The word "control" originates from Latin and is currently a popular expression in all European languages. During its development, it gained different meanings. In some cases, the key aspect was comparison, in other corrective action. The German term “controlling” was put into use in early seventies in business economy, which marks the date of birth of the parallel use of the two terms of controlling. Due to certain conditions, this problem has been hidden. Currently the translation of the German term into English can cause problems. During the lecture we will highlight this issue, analyze the available literature and propose a possible solution of the problem.
