Alvaro Hernández lecture at VGTU
On 6th of October Alvaro Hernández will be visiting VGTU and giving the lecture „Corporate SOFTWARE Responsibility“. A. Hernández is a well know speaker internationally in the databases area and comes to Lithuania to speak in the Big Data Strategy conference.
Alvaro Hernández is best described as a computer geek. His passion, job and hobby all comes into one - the art of programming. He is creating and developing software that challenges the existing paradigms and re-invents existing systems.
Alvaro is also a serial entrepreneur, running few companies. He's the founder and CEO of 8Kdata, a Madrid-based startup that is building the first database software ever built in Spain, which addresses the current limitations of the NoSQL databases.
In today's world, companies are forced to care about the environment implications and the ethics of the products and services they sell. But they should also be forced to care about Corporate SOFTWARE Responsibility.
Join this talk to experience an eye-opener view of software and its consequences through a series of real-life, shocking, sometimes fun, sometimes hard and worrisome - examples of how software rules our world. Learn how to understand geeks, how to manage them, how to help them construct better software for the good of all. Understand the economics of software, and learn about technical debt.
