Dean Jelena Stankevičienė - about changes
Dear students,
Thank you all for the mature and sensible way you have responded over the last week. I hope you and your families and friends remain healthy.
Our university life has been taken to the next level. University and faculty administration have done their best to keep academic processes running smoothly. The lecturers reviewed the courses they taught, tested the capabilities of the Moodle system, and introduced new ways of teaching to be ready 100% for the distance learning from the next Monday.
Let's accept all these changes with the understanding that behind every crisis there is an opportunity laying behind to learn something new, to improve your current skills, review well-established processes, to stimulate your creativity and innovate in the study process.
Every difficult period refines our values. Let us be more tolerant of each other. Let us support our colleagues. Stay in touch with each other and call each other more often. Live voice and communication are extremely important right now. I am delighted that Student Representatives at our Faculty are united and support students (@vgtusavvf).
Take note of group friends attending lectures. Are they all being active in the Moodle environment? Maybe someone needs help? Maybe you can help them? Our university has excellent social support for students, a psychologist, and a priest-supported community so please do not hesitate to contact them by any means.
Support the lecturers as well. They are currently facing many challenges too. Just as you are adjusting to new realities and new study process, our professors need to adapt to very different circumstances. VGTU has moved more of its functions online, and all professors and administrative staff are now working from home. University is putting in place alternative modes of teaching and assessments. I hope it will be clear until the end of this week and we will inform you immediately. We are constantly monitoring the situation and responding to quarantine tightening. We will endeavour to inform you promptly.
If you have any questions or have any constructive suggestions on how we can improve our activities and communication we will be more than happy to hear it from you (by email to crypt:PGEgaHJlZj0ibWFpbHRvOm1hbmFnZW1lbnRAdmd0dS5sdCI+bWFuYWdlbWVudEB2Z3R1Lmx0PC9hPg==:xx.).
And the most important! Protect yourself and your loved ones. You are all members of a strong community of Business Management Faculty!
With the best wishes
Dean Jelena Stankevičienė
