Faculty of Business Management has become a member of the prestigious management associations
The name of Lithuania has been included in the membership lists of the Central and East European Management Development Association (CEEMAN) and the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) with the Faculty of Business Management of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU) as a member of these prestigious associations. These memberships serve as evidence for joining the club of the best management schools in the world.
The Faculty of Business Management of VGTU has been granted the CEEMAN and EFMD membership status after the assessment process by experts of the associations. The assessment included the analysis of research activities, cooperation with business partners and the international dimension of the Faculty covering the offer of study programmes in foreign languages, the number of foreign students and teaching staff, and cooperation with other management schools in Europe.
The Dean of the Faculty of Business Management Jelena Stankevičienė says: “The international recognition provided by the experts serves as a proof that we have become visible and recognised as an international business management school at international level. Just few technical universities have business management schools that meet the highest standards for quality of studies and research. Active participation in the activities of the prestigious associations allow us to be among the leaders and exchange good practice in the fields of study quality, research, networking and innovation.”
Recommendations of the members of the CEEMAN and EFMD is a prerequisite for the membership in these associations. The Cracow University of Economics and the Business and Finance School of Riga gave their support to the Faculty of Business Management of VGTU in seeking its membership.
The CEEMAN and EFMD are global networks encouraging innovations in quality of management and uniting higher education institutions in the whole world. They strongly contribute to the development of management and practical activities through fostering research, exchange of good practice, leadership capabilities and development of educational programmes.
In addition to the Faculty of Business Management of VGTU, other members of the global associations from our area include the ISM University of Management and Economics, International Business School at Vilnius University and Baltic Management Institute. The University of Applied Social Sciences also takes part in the activities of CEEMAN.
