Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction is situated in Baku. Languages of insitution are Azerbaijani, Russian and English. Founded in 1975, the University has 5 educational buildings and the Campus comprising a nine-storeyed dormitory for foreign students. It also includes Construction College and a technical biased Lyceum.
 
The aim of the visit was teaching program quality improvement and new pedagogical practices of knowledge acquisition. G. Cyras met with Professor Aliev Adaliat Bairamali and gave lectures to the Business Management students. Professors discussed about their subject and G. Cyras subject "Engineering Priciples“ in general aspects of program development and good practice options. The professor Aliev Adaliat is a former Minister of Transort in Azerbaijan, also he built up Baku airport. The professor has written over 20 books on various economic topics. One of them - Economic engineering is directly related to the course, which G. Cyras is teaching at VGTU.
 
During the visit cooperative relations with the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction in different departments were established. During the visit, G. Cyras had meetings with the University Rector Gulchohra Mammadova, the Vice-Rector for Foreign Affairs Nargis Javad Abdullayeva, the Foreign Affairs Department Head Farhad Aliyev, Construction Economics and Management Faculty Dean Garibov Rahad Tanriverdi, the foreign project team leader Najimov Arif and other responsible persons. During the meetings VGTU conferences and journals were presented. The possibilities of cooperation with VGTU, particularly with the Faculty of Business Management, were discussed aswell. G. Cyras also visited the company “Gulf drilling Azerbaijan”.

Experience gained during the visit will be integrated into the subjects taught VGTU Business Technology department.
