Lecturer Giedrius Čyras visited the Public University of Navarra (Spain)
In November of 2018 Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU) Faculty of Business Management Department of Business Technology and Entrepreneurship lecturer Giedrius Čyras went trough Mobility agreement Staff Mobility for Teaching visit to Public University of Navarra, Spain.
Created in 1987 by the Parliament of Navarre, the UPNA is a relatively small public university in Spain, with campuses in Pamplona and Tudela. Academically, it focuses on Engineering, the Natural Sciences, Health Sciences, Social Sciences and Law, and is a markedly technical university. It is one of Spain’s leading universities in terms of teaching, research and transfer, occupying, along with 16 other Spanish public universities, the upper quartile when it comes to overall productivity (2017 ISSUE ranking, BBVA-IVIE).
The aim of the visit was teaching program quality improvement and new pedagogical practices of knowledge acquisition. There were meetings with Professor Amaya Erro, and taught in the course of the Economic students. The professors discussed about their subject and G. Čyras subject “Industry logistic” and "Engineering Priciples“ in general aspects of program development and good practice options.
As another purpose was named VGTU opportunity to take students from Spain under the Erasmus program. During the lectures G. Čyras made the presentation of VGTU to attract possible future Erasmus students.
Additional goal was to search for potential partners, discussing possible areas of cooperation, joint publications options.Between lectures had been made several meetings with professors of Economic faculty, was discussed the possibility of cooperation, particularly with the Faculty of Business Management in scientific field, as participation in conference of VGTU, or possible teaching visit. As a main outcome, was decided to write scientific article for a conference "CONTEMPORARY ISSUES IN BUSINESS, MANAGEMENT AND ECONOMICS ENGINEERING 2019" together with professor Amaya Erro.
Teaching subjects:
1. Presenting Engineering and Business Management interaction in Lithuania.
2. Introduction to Lithuanian Energetic fields, and its interaction with Economics, possible comparative analysis with Spain case.
3. Introduction to Lithuanian Heavy Industry and its impact to economic, possible comparative analysis with Spain case.
4. Organizational behavior: Orlen Lietuva case (Petrochemical industry challenges).
