On Monday 19th September, Colonel Jakob Sogard Larsen delivered a guest lecture
On Monday 19th September, Colonel Jakob Sogard Larsen (Danish Army) Commander NATO Force Integration Unit in Lithuania (NFIU LTU) was invited to deliver a guest lecture at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University. The lecture, which attracted students from Germany, France, Sweden, Lithuania and other EU, and non-EU countries, was co-organised by Renata Korsakienė, Assoc. Professor of Business Management Faculty. The opening address was given by Manuela Tvaronavičienė, Professor of Business Management Faculty and Expert of NATO for project “Energy security: Cultural Change” (2015-2016).
Titled „Applying Military Strategic Management Practices in the Public/Business Sectors”, the lecture addressed the background of strategic management and leadership and its relevance within current international context. The challenges of leaders, best practices from military and how these practices might be transferred to public/business organisations have been discussed. The qualities of leaders and how these qualities contribute to the success of other individuals, groups and organisations have been outlined.
Colonel Jakob Sogard Larsen, who developed versatile experience through the long-lasting military carrier, encouraged attendees to put efforts on the continual training and extensive practice. He also discussed the mission and the role of NATO Force Integration Unit in Lithuania (NFIU LTU).
