Study quality improvement in Faculty of Business Management (Master Degree Studies)
During September-October, 2015 meetings with Faculty community were arranged to discuss the self-evaluation results of the Master study programme Business Management (Programme from this point onwards).
During meetings the Head of study programme’s committee doc. dr. Jurgita Raudeliūnienė introduced the results of the self-evaluation and pursued survey.
During March-April, 2014 a survey on the opinions of students, teachers and during January, 2015 a survey on the opinions of employers regarding the implementation of the Programme was carried out. 139 students, 32 teaching staff, 18 employers and social partners participated in this survey.
The majority (95 %) of students agree, that the aims and potential learning outcome of the Programme are based on requirements for professions, the study subjects are taught in a coherent manner. 98 % of the students agree that the content of the study subjects allows to achieve the learning outcomes. Students also view the qualifications of the teaching staff with 90 % saying that the lecturers have enough subject-specific knowledge. 95 % of the students say that the teaching staff has specious qualifications to convey the results of study subject due to the study Programme. 90 % of students think that the accommodation are appropriate for the studies. 96 % of the students say that the currently used equipment (laboratory, computer, supplies) are appropriate and sufficient. Summarizing the results of the survey, we see that students greatly appreciated the master’s Programme execution.
The teaching staff also views the implementation of the Programme in a positive way: 99 % say that the Programmes name, potential learning outcomes, content and awarded qualifications fit each other well, the subjects of study are consistently and coherently presented during the courses. All lecturers agree, that the content of their respective study subject is appropriate for a business master’s qualification degree, the methods they are focused on the active participation of students during the lectures and practical activities (seminars, practices), encouraging research and consultation process, and applied teaching methods preconditions to achieve the expected results of the course. 98 % of the teaching believe that the research projects being carried out at the Faculty of Business Management are connected with the master Programme. The teaching staff (98 %) is also very positive on the state of facilities and methodological materials.
91 % of employers agree that the aims and perceived learning outcomes of the Programme are based on the needs of society and the labour market. 93 % agree that the content of the Programme is in line with the newest achievements of science and technology. 90 % of social partners would agree to accept a student of this Programme into an introductory or professional practice.
During meetings the Head of study programme’s committee doc. dr. Jurgita Raudeliūnienė invited the members of faculty community for discuss about the possibilities and perspectives of the study programme development and encouraged to be active and participate in the meeting with experts on 23 October 2015.
