The project team is delighted to invite members of the academic community to join the 80^th International Scientific Conference of the University of Latvia 2022 online on January 31^st, 2022. During the conference session, the results of the first year of the VILNIUS TECH-led project Economic Integration of the Nordic -Baltic Region through Labour, Innovation, Investments and Trade (LIFT) will be presented. The project is funded by the European Economic Area (EEA) countries (Iceland and Lichtenstein) and Norway grants for the period 2014–2021. Researchers of the project partners – University of Latvia, Baltic International Centre for Economic Policy Studies in Latvia, the University of Tartu in Estonia and Institute of Transport Economics in Norway – will present the research carried out during the project and the latest scientific publications. The presentations will also be made by experts from other institutions who work on the same topicality.

The project benefits from a € 998742.9 grant from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA Grants. The project code is  LT08-1-ŠMSM-K01-008  (contract with the Research Council of Lithuania No is S-BMT-21-7 (LT08-2-LMT-K-01-070)).

The aim of the project is to study the historical performance and estimate the potential for the economic integration of the Nordic-Baltic region via labour, migration, technology transfer, foreign direct investments and capital mobility, trade of both physical goods and services.
