VGTU lecturer participate in COST research activities
Assoc. prof. dr. Aurelija Burinskiene (the Faculty of Business Management, Department of Business Technology and Entrepreneurship) is a member of the Committee on the implementation of the project of the European Intergovernmental Cooperation Program on Science and Technology (COST) since November 22, 2018. Assoc. prof. dr. Aurelija Burinskiene (ITC Conference grants coordinator) is responsible for coordinating the grants of doctoral and young stage researchers for participation at conferences. This is a great opportunity for members of VGTU to participate in COST CA15105 research activities and promote their results at conferences.
The activities of COST project CA15105 aim to reduce the shortage of medical products which is influenced by supply problems, parallel exports and other causes. Ongoing activities enable participants to improve existing tools, share experience and carry out socio-economic impact analysis. Although the problem exists, it simultaneously shows significant data deficiencies and, in some cases, possible discrepancies and the lack of evaluation methodology.
The very important result of the ongoing activities will be the implementation of a permanent pan-European network of experts in the field of medical product management, aimed at capturing and disseminating knowledge about the supply of medical products and the needs of patients, and disseminating it to policy makers and the public. This network discusses with experts the existing problems, promotes the improvement of existing tools. The project will support those activities for comming two years.
COST is the longest-running program at European countries which is supporting international cooperation in science and technology between researchers and engineers. The aim of COST is to coordinate national-funded research and support European researchers in generating and implementing new ideas and initiatives in all areas of research, including technological and human sciences.
