VGTU member gave lecture to students from the University of San Paulo
During April 17-21 Assoc. Prof. dr. Andrius Tamosiunas of the Department of Social Economics and Management of Business Management Faculty of Gediminas Technical university (VGTU) via Erasmus+ have visited San Paulo university under the invitation of Prof. Gilmar Masiero.
San Paulo university is the largest and the main institution of high education in Brasil, having vast spectrum of various programs for bachelors, masters and scientists. VGTU member gave the lecture on “Climate change, renewable energies: megatrends and role of Brasil” to the audience of international students at university. Experience, challenges and opportunities of the application of technologies of renewable energy sources in economy sectors in Lithuania, other EU members and Brasil were reviewed.
Under the invitation of prof. Alvair Silveira Torres Jr. and together with the students of San Paulo university US company Flex Ltd., its divisions at Sorocaba (~100 km of San Paulo), also company Sinctronics Ltd. (belonging to the group of enterprises of Flex Ltd.) operating therein, have been visited. Flex Ltd. is the second in the world by production of devices of information and communication technologies, creating, designing, producing (departments executing these functions have been visited during the visit) the copying, printing machines as well as latest generation PCs and mobile devices for Lenovo, Dell, Hewlett-Packard, Compaq corporations. According to the representatives of Flex Ltd, company is planning a mass production of smart sport shoes for Nike corporation (in the factory, which is under construction for that purpose, in Mexico). Flex Ltd. is particular as well for transforming itself during the last few years into the circular economy production model, which is in principle under responsibility of Sinctronics Ltd., the one recycling and providing recycled materials for Flex Ltd. factories for further use.
During the stay at San Paulo a cooperation possibilities as well have been discussed with other professors.
