VGTU: significant steps towards international University
Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU) meets the new academic year as an international university – since September students from 47 different countries will start their studies and 50 teachers from non-European Union (EU) countries will deliver lectures.
During autumn semester, more than 730 foreign students will study at the University, and throughout all academic year, including the Exchange programme students of 2015-2016 autumn semester, the number should rise to more than 950 students, comprising nearly 10 percent of all VGTU students.
This year, even 500 foreign students (245 degree and 252 exchange programme students), will come to Lithuania and VGTU for the first time.
"Everything is incredibly well organised – I am very surprised. I do not believe that my University is providing such excellent conditions for incoming foreign students", - said Philipp, Erasmus exchange programme student from Germany, who came to VGTU for improving his knowledge as postgraduate student in economics.
Dobrina from Bulgaria, who came from Germany to study in Lithuania, agrees with this 23 years old person: "I have only the best impressions, so far. All people I met are very nice and helpful. What should I expect from this half-year at VGTU? Valuable knowledge, good marks, new friends, and great impressions."
