VILNIUS TECH Faculty of Business Management Strengthens Its International Presence Through a Visit to Turkey
From April 9 to 16, 2025, representatives of VILNIUS TECH visited Turkey (Istanbul and Izmir) to promote the university’s study programs, build partnerships with international institutions, and connect with prospective students. Among the delegation was Dr. Jurga Vesterte, Associate Professor at the Department of Business Technologies and Entrepreneurship and Head of the Bachelor’s Program in Business Management, representing the Faculty of Business Management both academically and strategically.
During the visit, the VILNIUS TECH team met with academic representatives from Bahçeşehir University, where opportunities for collaboration were discussed and study programs were introduced. Additional meetings were held with İstanbul Topkapı University. The delegation also participated in the BEGIN International Education Fair in Istanbul, where the Faculty of Business Management’s programs attracted considerable interest from attendees.
The visit extended to the secondary education level, with meetings at Bilim Yaşam College in Istanbul and Sınav College in Izmir. Discussions with school administrators and students focused on academic opportunities in Lithuania. The visit concluded with a special event in Izmir, organized in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Turkey, which brought together prospective students and honored guests to learn more about VILNIUS TECH’s academic offerings.
New academic and institutional connections were established throughout the visit. Potential areas for partnership, particularly with the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences at Bahçeşehir University and several secondary schools, open pathways for future collaboration.
“Turkey is a large and youthful country with a population of over 80 million. A significant portion of its society is made up of well-educated young people who are looking for high-quality, affordable study opportunities in Europe as an alternative to the local higher education system. For the Faculty of Business Management, this is not only a market of growing interest but also a chance to position ourselves as a distinctive choice. Our programs, offered within the context of a technical university, combine business education with technological and analytical competencies that meet the demands of today’s job market,” said Dr. Jurga Vesterte.
“The visit confirmed that students in Turkey value practical, career-oriented study environments with an international outlook. Our faculty is well-positioned to meet those expectations. We currently host more than 300 international students from 25 countries and offer fully English-taught programs at all levels. This proves our global appeal, and internationalization is now both a quality marker and a key strategic direction for our growth.”
“Internationalization goes beyond the classroom. It’s about building a supportive and inclusive environment where international students feel truly part of the community. This includes a multicultural social space and openness to cultural diversity. We’re proud that VILNIUS TECH is already home to an active Turkish student community (@vilniustech_turkiye), which plays a vital role in strengthening social bonds and serving as a trusted bridge for future students." shares Dr. Jurga Vestertė, inviting us to see the Faculty of Business Management as more than just a place to study.
