VILNIUS TECH helps young people acquire entrepreneurial skills
Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH) together with the main partner Public Institution Northtown Vilnius is implementing project “Innovative Project Solutions Tournament "Business LAB" (No. ENI-LLB-1-169) under the European Neighborhood Instrument and financed by the European Union.
The project aims to make a substantial contribution to youth unemployment problem solving as well as the problems of poor youth entrepreneurship education and different entrepreneurship support opportunities, lack of institutional cooperation by creating an alternative method of youth entrepreneurial and self-employability capacities development through closer cooperation between education and R&D institutions, exchange of good practices and inspiring success stories in publicity.
During the implementation of the project The Methodology for Business Idea Generation, Selection and Evaluation Through Training and Consulting, and The Business LAB Training and Consultancy Programme were prepared by Dr. Linas Eriksonas (Northtown Vilnius) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lidija KraujalienÄ— (VILNIUS TECH).
The 4 cycle pilot training “Idea Development Training “Business LAB” was organized based on the prepared methodology and training and consultancy programme. More than 200 participants aged 15–29 improved their entrepreneurial and self-employment skills as well as practical skills.
The main activities of this project are "Business LAB" methodology, including Training and consulting program, preparation and journal release, Pilot Innovative Project Solutions Tournament "Business LAB", Final Innovative Project Solutions Tournament "Business LAB" and Practical Conference, accompanied by high quality management and coordination system.
By implementing these activities, partners are seeking to achieve the following results: one method developed and methodology drawn, resulting promotion of innovative youth competence; 660 youngsters, which qualification and entrepreneurial skills as well as practical skills, corresponding to the needs of labour market; cooperation between partners in educational and R&D areas achieved by creating a jointly developed product.
