VILNIUS TECH joins Erasmus+ project “Women Empowered in Construction” (WEC)
Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH) is a partner in the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Vocational Education and Training (VET) project Women Empowered in Construction (WEC), an international initiative focused on reducing gender imbalance and supporting more women to enter, stay, and progress in the construction sector.
Running from 2024 to 2027, WEC brings together organisations from Ireland, Germany, Croatia, Lithuania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Albania to address both workforce shortages and persistent barriers to women’s participation in construction.
During the project, partners will deliver research and mapping on skills needs and gender gaps, develop an open-access digital platform, and create four inclusive VET curriculum modules and online course modules tailored to women in construction. The project also includes training and practical support for educators and industry representatives through a toolkit, workshops, webinars, awareness-raising activities in local communities, and a final conference to share results.
As a project partner, VILNIUS TECH contributes its expertise in engineering and education, as well as extensive experience in international cooperation projects, helping ensure that new learning resources and training approaches are relevant, practical, and scalable.
