VILNIUS TECH launches the Erasmus+ project "Creatives Communities First"
The Knowledge and Technology Transfer Centre of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University and Creativity and Innovation Centre "LinkMenų fabrikas" have launched the Erasmus+ project "Creatives Communities First". The project aims to develop an effective and replicable HEI-led digital model for teaching and supporting creative communities.
The project highlights the significant role of the creative economy in Europe's recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. The creative economy encompasses economic, social, cultural and technological issues and lies at the intersection of art, business and technology.
According to the authors of the project, the COVID-19 pandemic has devastated the creative economy, and it needs saving. The creative sectors are important for their economic impact and employment. The creative industries contribute hundreds of millions of euros to the European economy, but in recent months hundreds of creative collectives (artists, craftspeople, writers, filmmakers and software designers) have lost the opportunity to promote and sell their work due to restrictions and the social exclusion paradigm.
The project will aim to develop a digital platform for open innovation and education; a guide for sustainable and regenerative development of the European Union's creative economy and communities after COVID-19; and a pedagogical framework for higher education, and an interactive hackathon guide for creative communities.
