The Faculty of Creative Industries are hosting a webinar with Dr. Henry Jenkins
We are inviting you to participate in a webinar presented by a well-known Communications professor, Dr. Henry Jenkins which will be hosted by the Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU) Faculty of Creative Industries together with faculty lecturer from America Paul Aristidas Trimakas.
Dr. Henry Jenkins is an American media scholar and Provost Professor of Communication, Journalism, and Cinematic Arts, a joint professorship at the University of Southern California (USC) Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism and the USC School of Cinematic Arts. He also has a joint faculty appointment with the USC Rossier School of Education. Henry Jenkins has authored and co-authored over a dozen books including By Any Media Necessary: The New Youth Activism (2016), Spreadable Media: Creating Value and Meaning in a Networked Culture (2013), Convergence Culture: Where Old and New Media Collide (2006).
Convergence Culture: Where Old and New Media Collide (2006) plays an important role for our studies in Journalism and Content strategy for our third-year Creative Industries Lithuanian students who are studying along with international students from the Erasmus + exchange program.
“It is a great privilege for us to have Dr. Henry Jenkins who has agreed to share his experiences, insights on modern-day media, and to answer our students’ questions. During the lectures we are learning from Dr. Henry Jenkins' textbook, as our students actively participate in discussions explaining the theories presented by the professor. This will be a very promising and inspiring meeting,” says lecturer Paul Aristidas Trimakas.
You are welcome to join and participate in the webinar on October 31 at 6 pm (18h) in Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU), Faculty of Creative Industries, 119 aud.
