Exhibition "I am (not) late“ in Gallery A

"In the packed schedules of modern life, rest has become the ultimate goal for many. We long for it as we try to juggle responsibilities and meet deadlines. Yet, these tasks, once in motion, rarely slow down – on the contrary, they multiply and, like a whirlwind, sweep up the person who strives to accomplish so much. Sometimes, this person calls out for help, seeking relief, but the relentless pursuit of self-fulfillment and success refuses to loosen its grip. Unfortunately, they find themselves trapped... This is the harsh yet familiar reality for many 'busy' and 'high-achieving' individuals.
 
Artist Gabrielė Krulytė addresses this very experience in her work. Drawing from her personal struggles and inspired by persistent visions of 'escape,' she invites her audience to pause, step away from their to-do lists, and instead focus on the beauty, charm, and dreams she captures in her art. Using tools like sticky notes, markers, correction pens, highlighters, and ink – items typically associated with managing tasks – Gabrielė Krulytė repurposes them to depict natural scenes, flashes of light, and creative interpretations. Her art serves as a reminder of the much-desired state of simply 'being' – being present in the moment, without rushing or needing to prove oneself.
 
In an age where career success and productivity increasingly define one's identity, it's easy to feel a sense of despair and confusion: is this all there is to life? The instinctive response of 'no' drives us to seek new ways of escaping the cycle and reflect on what else, besides fulfilling annual plans, preparing reports, presentations, or success strategies, we can achieve."
