Heat Transfer Laboratory of Academician Algirdas Žukauskas
The Department of Building Energetics (until the 1st of September 2009 – Department of Heating and Ventilation) was established on the 15th of April 1961 in Kaunas Polytechnic Institute. The laboratory of Industrial Ventilation and Air Conditioning was established on the 11th of November in the same year. The activity of this laboratory can be appreciated as the beginning of modern educational and research laboratories.
Today the Department of Building Energetics has laboratories: Heat Transfer and Technical Thermodynamics laboratory of Academic’s A. Zukauskas, Ventilation and Air Conditioning laboratory, Heating Technology and Hydraulic Machinery laboratory, and a self-acting laboratory of Building Energy and Microclimate Systems. Practical works of students, performed in the modern laboratories, have the great importance for preparing future professionals. For this reason, over the past few years the Department with the help of industrial partners and the EU support purchased new and modern educational stands, integrated with computerized measuring and data analysis software.
