About Faculty
Transport is one of the most important areas of economic activity in our country. The contribution of transport and logistics activities to the country's GDP in 2019 was about 13 percent. There will always be a need for highly and highly qualified transport specialists to ensure the efficient operation of the entire transport system. They are organized at Vilnius Tech Faculty of Transport Engineering.
Studies at the faculty are interesting and promising. Our graduates, who have completed the first or second cycle study programs in Transport Engineering or Transport Engineering Economics and Logistics, work in creative, well-paid work related to constantly renewable machinery and technology in many companies, institutions and organizations. In them, the graduates of our faculty organize the maintenance and repair of vehicles, transportation of cargo and passengers, solve logistics issues, perform technical examinations of vehicles, lifting machines and other high-risk equipment, research, design, improve machines, work in the field of traffic safety and transport environment. .
Students have the opportunity to study for one or two semesters, do internships, and doctoral students and lecturers have internships in foreign universities, research institutions and industrial companies. The best students receive scholarships from AB Lietuvos Geležinkeliai and UAB Girteka, the largest transport companies supporting their studies.

HISTORY
The Faculty of Transport Engineering (TIF) was established in 1994, then it was renamed the Faculty of Transport. The faculties from Faculty of Mechanics have been assigned to the Transport Faculty: Automobile Transport (former Transport Machinery), Road Construction Machinery (former Construction and Road Machinery) and Transport Management (former Transportation Organization). The Department of Railway Transport was established together with the faculty.
