Research and innovation
The Department prosecutes qualifying works and scientific seminars. Scientists of the department together with bachelor and master students constantly participate in the scientific internship and research projects organized by Lithuanian Science Council. Scientists of the department present the summarized research results at local and international scientific conferences; publish articles in recognized international journals, edit monographs. The Department of Building Construction participates in organizing the international scientific conference “Acoustic climate inside and outside buildings” in 2014.

Department of building structures participates in preparation of the international scientific conference "Acoustic climate inside and outside buildings".
The conference will take place on 23rd of September 2014 in the Faculty of Architecture.

Achievements of the scientists of the Department were evaluated at various levels. Habil. Dr. Prof. V. Stauskis in 2002 was awarded the National Science Prize for series works “Halls’ acoustics research, engineering solutions and their implementation in 1977-2001”. The Thesis by Assoc. Prof. Dr. M. Valevičius was awarded citation in the competition of best scientific works by Lithuanian Academy of Science. Recognized Lithuanian architects and engineers, designing buildings of various capacity and purpose, work in the Department and share their experience. Professors actively participate in international and local competitions and exhibitions.
The scientific research of the Department of Building Construction is attributed to the priority direction of ‘‘Sustainable Construction“. Topics of works:
