Our Dean, Prof. Dr. Olegas Prentkovskis, Editor-in-Chief of the academic journal TRANSPORT, actively participated in all online sessions of the Publication Integrity Week 2024. This week-long series of events took place from November 18–22, 2024, featuring in-depth discussions on a wide range of publication integrity topics.
Key issues addressed included:

• New challenges in addressing plagiarism: Innovative approaches and perspectives on plagiarism prevention.
• Collaborative solutions for publication integrity: Cooperation among journals, publishers, universities, and other stakeholders to resolve ethical challenges.
• The future of publication ethics: The role of artificial intelligence in detecting ethical breaches, expanding ethical practices beyond journals, and evolving peer-review processes.
• Addressing paper mills: Identifying and tackling problems related to paper mills, authorship for sale, and suspected unethical practices through practical workshops.
• Data management: Exploring data issues, from ensuring equity and diversity to handling qualitative data and implementing robust data-sharing policies.

These topics are of paramount importance to academic publishers, particularly to TRANSPORT, which has been a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) since 2020. The journal consistently upholds the highest standards of publication ethics.
