The doctoral studies are designed to prepare researchers of a particular scientific field who can demonstrate mastery of knowledge in a specific research area and create new knowledge. PhD is the highest degree awarded, and requires the highest level of proficiency and achievement. Doctoral students are expected to demonstrate the ability to engage in profound independent academic research, constitute an advance in scientific knowledge, and satisfy formal criteria defined in the Regulations for Doctoral Studies.
