Today, the Faculty of Transport Engineering hosted the first scientific seminar of this academic year, dedicated to a highly relevant topic – “Artificial Intelligence in Road Safety and Mobility.”

The presentation was delivered by Professor Dr. George Yannis from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), who introduced the latest achievements in the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in transport engineering. The seminar discussions explored how AI-based solutions can contribute to improving road safety, promoting sustainable mobility, and adapting to the changing demands of transport systems.

Professor Dr. George Yannis is the Head of the Department of Transportation Planning and Engineering at the NTUA School of Civil Engineering, with more than 30 years of active involvement in scientific research and engineering projects. He has contributed to over 335 research and engineering projects, served on expert committees of the European Commission and other international organizations, and has an impressive record of more than 980 scientific publications, including 274 papers in peer-reviewed journals, widely cited worldwide.
