VILNIUS TECH hosted the 13th International Scientific Conference "Transbaltica 2022: Transportation Science and Technology"
On September 15 and 16, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH) hosted the 13th international scientific conference "Transbaltica 2022: Transportation Science and Technology", which was organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania, the Association of Transport Innovations, and the international publisher Springer Nature AG. The extensive programme offered participants from all over the world an opportunity to engage in discussions about the most important issues in transportation.
In welcoming participants on day one, Dr. Paulius Skačkauskas, Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the conference, drew attention to positive trends in transportation, such as sustainability and transition to green energy, and said that innovations and technological advancements in the field will lead to a better future.
The welcoming speeches by Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation Prof. Dr. Dalius Navakauskas and Dean of the Faculty of Transport Engineering Prof. Dr. Olegas Prentkovskis addressed the importance of international scientific cooperation and knowledge exchange.
Dr. Justas Nugaras, Representative of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, opened the programme by introducing Ministry’s strategic goals and objectives, key projects and initiatives, and said that Lithuania is open to new ideas and innovations in transportation.
The topics discussed at the conference included the vehicles and systems, alternative fuels, traffic safety, infrastructure of the transport system, transport policy, technology for carrying passengers and freight, technology for multimodal transportation and logistics, environmental protection and ecology, intelligent transport systems, autonomous transport, etc.
