
Economic Game - Bosas ne basas 2022
36 schools from various Lithuanian cities and towns have registered for this year's economics game. These are nearly 1,500 students who will compete in teams (four in one) remotely for knowledge of economics in a selective round of the game. One team from each school participating in the qualifying round - a total of about 150 students - will be invited to the final stage of the game, organized at VILNIUS TECH University. The final event is scheduled for April 8th.

More than 80 students from all over Lithuania competed for economic knowledge. And won! All participants won! Congratulations everyone!

Finally! October 23 took place in the Economic Game Bosas ne basas Final. The pandemic did not allow you to meet and share warmth for a long time, but the smiles that radiate the joy of life on the screens are proof that the need for knowledge and the pleasure of learning while playing overcomes all obstacles!
All - gymnasium teams - finalists, lecturers, and sponsors of the Department of Economic Engineering - met remotely in the final game. The final participants were welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty of Business Management prof. dr. Jelena Stankevičienė and Jekaterina Rojaka, Deputy Minister of Economy and Innovation of the Republic of Lithuania.
10 teams from Vilnius and Vilnius district, Kaunas, Utena, Alytus, Marijampolė, and Priekulė participated in the game final. The teams were divided into three subgroups in which they competed against each other on the online Kahoot platform. The winners were: Vilnius Lyceum, Vytautas Magnus University Rasa Gymnasium and Vilnius Radvilų Gymnasium.
Utena high school student Gabrielė Karvelytė won the essay on economics.

Economic Game Silpnoji grandis 2019
2019 On April 5, VGTU Department of Economic Engineering together with the Ministry of Economy and Innovation of the Republic of Lithuania, “Investment and Business Guarantees”, “Mantinga”, “Ainava”, organized the Economic Game - Silpnoji grandis.
The game was attended by students in grades 11-12 from 14 schools. The opening and final stage of the game took place at VGTU, where the gathered students and teachers were greeted by the Minister of Economics and Innovation of the Republic of Lithuania Virginijus Sinkevičius and the Dean of the Faculty of Business Management prof. dr. Jelena Stankevičienė.
80 students from various regions of Lithuania took part in the economics game: Vilnius, Kaunas, Utena, Kretinga, Alytus, Panevėžys.
The participants of the game were divided into four subgroups, in which they played five teams each. One best team was selected from each subgroup. Four winning teams: Vilnius Lyceum, Utena Adolfas Šapoka Gymnasium, Vilnius Blessed Teofilius Matulionis Gymnasium, Vytautas Magnus University Rasa Gymnasium were awarded diplomas and sponsors' prizes. And all the remaining participants received thanks for participating in the final stage and sponsor prizes. The participants were awarded prizes by the Dean of the Faculty of Business Management prof. dr. Jelena Stankevičienė, Head of the Department of Economic Engineering, prof. dr. Daiva Jurevičienė and the head of the marketing department of the company UAB “Investicijų ir verslo garantijos” - Asta Slapšienė.

Faculty of Business Management, Department of Economic Engineering doc. dr. Žaneta Karazijienė on October 29, 2020. led in-service training courses for economics teachers - Play methods in economics lessons. During the course, teachers got acquainted with the playful teaching method, the benefits, and principles of its application, developed a plan for the integration of playful apps into economics lessons, and discussed in detail the possibilities of selecting assessment criteria. During the course, teachers prepared a play element adapted to the chosen economics lesson. The courses were attended by teachers from various Lithuanian schools, Šakiai "Žiburis" gymnasium, Klaipėda district. Information about previous courses for teachers organized by the Department of Economic Engineering
The Department of Economic Engineering organizes courses for economics and entrepreneurship teachers. These courses are led by associate professors of the department; dr. Izolda Jokšienė, dr. Daiva Andriušaitienė, dr. Eglė Kazlauskienė and dr. Agnė Šimelytė. The courses are designed to update and deepen the knowledge of economics and entrepreneurship teachers in the field of business economics, to develop their skills to develop entrepreneurship, and to understand the development opportunities of business organizations and general education schools. The courses introduce the basics of business economics; key elements of entrepreneurial competence, student entrepreneurship education tools and practices; business organization and financing (forms and choice of business organization, etc.). Teachers' competencies to incorporate innovative teaching methods into teaching processes are also deepened.
2020 February 21 10 a.m. (SRC 602 aud. Saulėtekio al. 11, Vilnius) organized the course "Application of Active Teaching Methods in Economics Lessons", which was led by Associate Professor of the Department of Economic Engineering dr. Agnė Šimelytė. The courses lasted 8 academic hours, during which teachers were provided with theoretical and practical knowledge on how to integrate active teaching methods into economics lessons. The courses were attended by more than 20 teachers from all over Lithuania.
Content of courses on the active application of teaching methods in economics lessons:
1. Active application methods, their types, and application in the economic discipline. Introduction to active application methods, types, applicability, and teaching principles (1 hour).
2. Interdisciplinary projects. Types of interdisciplinary projects, tasks, organization, presentation, and integration with other subjects. Criteria for evaluating students' results and methods of reporting on projects (1 hour).
3. Discussions and debates. Selection of topics and tasks for discussions. Organization of discussions and debates. Selection of student assessment criteria (1 hour).
4. Application of case analysis. Case preparation for case study training. Case study application methodology, student involvement, duration, preparation. Teachers will do a case study task in practice during the course (2.5 hours).
5. Practical situation and role play. Preparation of the situation task. Assignment of roles. For students, task formulation, task organization, and selection of assessment criteria. Teachers will practice the role task during the course (2.5 hours).
