Institute of Applied Computer Science
In Institute of Applied Computer Science, the fundamental and applied research is focused on information and communication technologies according to smart specialization of Lithuania “Transport, logistics and information and communication technologies (ICT)”. Scientific knowledge, practical experience and technical basis are used by PhD students in Informatics engineering (T007) and Computer Science (N009). The hosted IT infrastructure provides computer clusters and cloud resources for research on information technology security and parallel computing. Institute of Applied Computer Science has Laboratory of Parallel Computing and Information Technology Security Laboratory.
Research and Innovation
Fundamental and applied research topics in areas of information technology security and parallel computing:
- modeling of information security insurance processes;
- artificial intelligence application for cyberattack and anomaly detection;
- optimization of information security management processes;
- IoT and SCADA security;
- parallel algorithms of computational fluid dynamics, thermal conductivity and discrete element method;
- parallel computations of biosensors, electric cables, multiphase flows, haemodynamic flows, granular materials , electrostatic filters, damage and fracture;
- general purpose GPU algorithms for research on materials and processes;
- visualization software and e-services;
- distributed computing in clouds;
- cloud computing solutions and services.
Provided services:
- information security audit for private companies and governmental organizations;
- performance analysis of cloud SaaS.
