Laboratory Rules

THE MULTIMEDIA DESIGN LABORATORY RULES

The rules of the Multimedia Design Laboratory (from now on - the Laboratory) are based on the principle of mutual respect - those who obey the Laboratory rules and terms earn the Laboratory's respect.
The following abstract describes the order of equipment issue and return, as well as the general rules applying to handling the equipment loaned by the Laboratory.

TERMS OF USE OF THE LABORATORY EQUIPMENT

I. GENERAL STATEMENTS
  1. The handling order of the equipment loaned by the Laboratory regulates the conditions and order relating to the use of Laboratory equipment and accessories in the study process;
  2. Only the members of the VILNIUS TECH study process (from now on - the Users) are authorized to be loaned the Laboratory-owned equipment and accessories (from now on - the Equipment);
  3. The Equipment may only be used for research directly related to the study process;
  4. The Head of the Laboratory or their assistants are responsible for the process of issuing the Equipment to the users and having it subsequently returned in accordance with the rules;
II. TERMS OF USE
  1. The User must attend the seminar detailing the properties and functionality of the Equipment, held during the first semester of their freshman year;
  2. After the conclusion of the seminar, the User sign the logbook, which affirms that the User is aware of and agrees to stick to the Rules of the Laboratory. Having signed the logbook makes the User eligible for being loaned the Equipment;
  3. The User must possess a valid student/teacher certificate. Those not in possession of such document are not eligible for the Equipment loan or the right to use the Equipment at the Laboratory;
  4. The User must check the loaned Equipment for any potential faults right away. If any inaccuracies or faults are spotted, the User must immediately make the Head of the Laboratory or their assistant aware of them;
III. ORDER OF LOAN AND RETURN OF THE LABORATORY EQUIPMENT
  1. The User must provide a valid student/employee certificate;
  2. The Equipment is identified by a unique inventory number, which can be found in the list of the Laboratory Equipment;
  3. All Users must be registered in the logbook (see II. User Obligations, part 2.);
  4. The case of loaning the Equipment is logged by the User and the Head of the Laboratory or their assistant signing the logbook entry;
  5. Upon the return of the Equipment, the Head of the Laboratory must check the Equipment for any faults or missing features;
  6. The return of the Equipment is logged by the User and the Head of the Laboratory or their assistant signing the logbook entry;
  7. The time the Equipment is loaned for cannot exceed 2 consecutive days (During the quarantine, the equipment is only loaned in 2 different scenarios: a) if loaned on Monday afternoon, the Equipment must be returned on Friday morning and b) if loaned on Friday afternoon, the Equipment must be returned on Monday morning);
IV. RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PARTIES
  1. The Head of the Laboratory is responsible for the preparation of the Equipment for the subsequent use;
  2. The User is prohibited from handing the Equipment over to the third parties;
  3. The User is responsible for what happens to the loaned Equipment. In case of TOS violation, the User is held accountable for misuse of the Equipment and therefore must compensate for the damage caused by the violation.
NOTES:
  • The Equipment must be returned at least 30 minutes before the return deadline for the Laboratory staff to be able to recharge the batteries (and disinfect the Equipment during the quarantine);
  • Incomplete Equipment sets are not accepted (the User must check the completeness of the Equipment set before returning it);
  • One User group can only be loaned one Equipment set of the same category, e.g.: one User group cannot be loaned 2 camera sets;
  • The User is unable to reserve any new Equipment until they have successfully returned the current Equipment set and the case of return has been logged by the Laboratory staff;
  • The Laboratory staff are not responsible for the data left on the memory card (the memory cards must be formatted before the Equipment is returned).
Laboratory Equipment
Laboratory Equipment of the Laboratory is in packages which may or may not have additional equipment available. The laboratory equipment can only be used by the students who have made themselves aware of the laboratory rules and have been registered in the laboratory database.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR THE STUDENTS: Those wishing to be loaned the laboratory equipment must know the serial number of the required kit or accessory. Students wishing to reserve the laboratory equipment must visit the laboratory and fill the reservation in the database. The reservation will be cancelled automatically in case the user fails to pick the loaned equipment within an hour without a prior notification of the laboratory staff. NOT ONLY THE PROFESSIONAL EQUIPMENT IS AVAILABLE TO BE RESERVED, BUT ALSO THE WORKSPACE AT THE LABORATORY.

Keywords: aukso pjūvis, aukso pjūvio santykis, aukso pjūvio proporcijos, harmonija, 3D personažas, aukso pjūvio matuoklis, 3D aplinka, animacija

Annotation (užsienio k.)

This thesis explores the golden ratio and its applicability in three-dimensional environments. The work analyzes the historical background of the golden ratio, its mathematical significance, and the sequences associated with it. The work investigates the harmony that the golden ratio brings to artworks, its presence in the human body, and identifies the most accurate and appropriate methods for measuring golden ratio proportions in the context of design creation. Technological tools and software best suited for applying the golden ratio to a 3D character are selected. A 3D character is created using the golden ratio during the modeling process, and the modeling-related aspects of its design are described. A short, humorous animated film featuring the 3D character incorporating the golden ratio is produced. The resulting animation is analyzed, highlighting the key benefits of using the golden ratio, along with both positive and negative observations from the character creation process.

Keywords: golden ratio, golden ratio proportions, harmony, golden ratio calipers, 3D character, 3D environment, animation
